If only I knew
You are so majestuous
but there I am stating the obvious.
If only I knew why
I love you so.
Is it your look ?
The way you wear your heart on your sleeve ?
All glam, pink and white in April,
as if you can’t help the joy
all green in July,
as if you can’t help the hope.
If only you knew
the impression you had on me
that day of October
all orange and red
as if you blushed
when you saw
that I saw
the amount of leaves all ready to go.
Maybe it is our hearts
you wear on your sleeve,
in Jan’ especially
all vulnerable and bare
showing us
—showing me—the way
to something I wish but don’t dare:
vulnerability.
