Pyrographs
Pyrography is the art of burning a design into wood with a heated point.
Andreea Monica Chitu-Fordyce is a self-taught pyrographer. After a brief and succesful experience with a wood burning pen in kindergarten, she bought one tool at a yard sale, many years later. The best $5 ever spent! It brought her and all of her happy customers lots of joy.
She enjoys wood burning buildings, sacred geometry or elements of nature. Most of her pieces are custom orders that would take her hours of focus and precision. She puts a lot of love in all of her creations and enjoys the fact that she can burn the wood and keep it too!
It was only a matter of time until the wonderful architecture of Ringwood, her local town in New Jersey, USA, caught her attention. She couldn’t resist wood burning Ringwood Manor and Skylands Manor. Her effort was rewarded not only by her own satisfaction but also by receiving 1st place in the Mixed Media category at the annual St. Catherine of Bologna Photography, Art & Poetry Show in Ringwood, 2019.
