About the Artist

Jane Bristowe, artist printmaker and author, was shortlisted for Wildlife Artist of the Year for her Rhino linocut. Her Meerkats linocut was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Bristowe’s immediately recognisable style has established her as a leading exponent of animal images.

Her innovative linocuts display her inventive artistic imagination in capturing the simple appearances and character of a stunning array of animals and birds—and have placed Bristowe among the best of this genre working today.

Bristowe’s sassy limerick and linocut style combined is exceptionally appealing. Her bold single-colour artwork, in tandem with her limericks, create instant rapport by conveying each character with individual personality and idiosyncrasies.

In recent years collaboration and conservation have been key to Bristowe’s work in light of the destruction of large swathes of the animal kingdom.
